Boardwalk Scene
When my dad grew up in Kasaan, people used boardwalks to get most everywhere. Nowadays, only one long stretch of boardwalk remains: "Blackstad Lane". These days, most people drive on the dirt roads.
In the above photo, we see some of Blackstad Lane with afternoon shadows and growing berry bushes. My dad's Auntie Pauline was married to Bill Blackstad and they lived in Kasaan for decades.
Happy Fathers Day, Dad!

Sitka Runway
On my way to Juneau for CELEBRATION 2010, my plane stopped briefly in Sitka. Here's a view from the runway, as we taxied to the terminal.
