An intrepid slug slides around on some wild celery, high atop...well, 3 feet above the ground. (near Son-i-Hat Creek)

Humpy Run

Humpback (or "pink") salmon have begun their journey upstream in a few of the creeks around Kasaan.

Dry Creek

Due to the lack of rain lately, the water level in Son-i-Hat Creek has prevented returning fish from swimming upstream. Rain today has changed that somewhat and a few have begun their final journey. Stay tuned!

Day 5 without a still camera--yeah, mine broke the night of August 2nd. It just stopped working. Kind of shocking. So, I have shot video this week but no stills.

In the meantime, I'll have to show some of the many photos that didn't get published here this year, for whatever or no reasons. Here we see a late afternoon view from my deck at home (August 2nd)...
