Auspicious Solstice

feathers on window, Kasaan, Alaska

The winter solstice began with a thump. A bird crashed into my window at work, leaving the above feathery evidence. It lived. And, later, I got the call that I could move into my new place--a two bedroom house, all to myself. Here's to the days getting longer!

  1. Awww...thankfully the bird lived, but it must have hit hard to leave such an array of feathers???
I agree...I much prefer the lighter brighter days, especially in the cold climate!
A new place, how nice for you...does this mean you will not be returning to New York?
    Cheers

  2. Here's to the days getting longer! Up there it's really noticeable isn't it? about 8 minutes a day?
